just to clarify, I myself am a leftist but I see that the free market can reach the ideals of socialist thinking from within the capitalist framework. For example, Marx's main argument regarding capitalism centers on the notion that the capitalist extracts surplus labour, and thus is unfair. This can be remedies through the capital market if workers were encouraged organized so that they bought stock (collectively) in the corporation they work for and as such secure a better platformfor bargaining than the ineffecient union which call for strikes leading to mass inefficiency and output loss in the economy from social perspective
I disagree with that. Your point is focused on the so called effeciency as if you ascripe the corporate worldwith effeciency..The real world if proves anything it proves how that world ofcorporate governance is rigged with corruption, ineffeciency, and neptoism within the cororations themselves and in the they conduct their work in third world country. The last wave of scandels of US corporations is a goodexample, ENRON, the internet buble the fooled and drawn the saving of millions of investors is another major example while the Banks keep making profit any way the market goes, why?
What you are talking about is ideology, it is the ideology of the Market the US style. It is the innate believe the US estabishment, media, andmainstream culture try to make us allbelieve in, believe in the indespensability of the Market. That is not true, Two worl wars, deep deprissions, andlong wave of depressions that starts in the early 70s through the world prove all that wrong.
Back to your suggestion for the workers to invest their saving the corporate world, through buying a stock. This is something that was proposed initially by the business, it is and has been a form of bribery to the workers and employees, the limited and scattered ownership of share does not give themany control or even a say in the business investment and growth strategies. It is away to give the workers a falsefeeling that this compny is theirs..What Marx is really calling for is an enahnced version of what you are propsing, in way, which he is calling for the workers to take ownership of - appropriate - these corporations, factories, productive institutions within the framework of a workers' demcratic state, and get read of the owners that really do nothing for the effeciency og production, they simply do not produce anything except augmenting their wealth, wouldn't that be much better, and more effecient. The workers employees can run their business and manage it together for the best of the majority and the ehancement of the whole society..
